Human Resource Information Systems Roles
Any business model relies on several key assets to achieve success. The original competitive idea is the base for any business. Various assists, like the material base, information channels and other similar tools must be present to assure continuity in the development. These areas of business organization process are vital and must explore well to guarantee the necessary results. However, human resources is the most important asset, because everything else will simply not work properly without human control. So the organization of human resources management is a highly important problem that any company must solve.

Human Resources Information System (HRIS) is the solution. According to Heathfield (n.d.) HRIS “is a software or online solution for the data entry, data tracking, and data information needs of the Human Resources, payroll, management, and accounting functions within a business.” This is the system that controls everything, connected with human resources in any organization. The main functions of HRIS are management of the information regarding employees; analysis and reporting; providing the company-related documents (safety guidelines, employee handbooks, etc.); position enrollment, status changes, an update of personal information; integration with payroll department; tracking of available applications and incoming resumes’ management (Heathfield, n.d.).

The implementation of HRIS in 1992 for Riordan Manufacturing has brought necessary results. At this time, HRIS is the component of the financial systems package and maintains an employee’s Personal information that includes name, date of birth, address, and more; organizational information that includes department, supervisor’s name, etc; hourly pay rate or salary, hiring date,...
