Club IT, Part One
Club IT is a nightclub located in a downtown music district. Ruben Keys and Lisa Tejada manage and own the music venue in which Club IT is located. Ruben and Lisa are looking to improve the information systems they are currently using. In order to maximize their competitive edge, they need to utilize as many technological advances as possible. Ruben and Lisa’s best advantage is their information resources and proper management. Utilizing the proper resources can increase productivity and exposure.
Ruben and Lisa run their business with a mission statement: “We, Ruben and Lisa, offer you live music, DJ’s, dance space and refreshments that suit your lifestyle. You are our friends, and we see to build a community that meets regularly at Club IT.” Ruben and Lisa have made Club IT an entertainment catering to various audiences. They have a building that is 6,000 square feet, with a 600 square foot dance floor, enough seating for 220 people, a kitchen for appetizers and short orders, as well as a bar for adult beverages. At Club IT customers are entertained with a variety of musical genres throughout the week. For customers who have never visited Club IT or are looking for up to date information, there is a website with the latest information. The information being provided ranges from club hours, menus, pictures of the club, and nightly themes. The employees of Club IT can also access the website by using their user id and password for added protection. By accessing the intranet employees can view information like paystubs, wages, job description, and hours worked. As with many businesses, a variety of information resources are available to improve productivity and work flow.
