Clever Advertising
There are many advertisements today in the fast food industry. The purpose of all these ads are to persuade people into buying their product.   These ads are very clever and creative. Some are very simple print ads while others are well directed commercials.   The fast food industry obviously spends millions if not billions of dollars every year to promote their product.   I can appreciate the time and effort put into each of these well thought of marketing strategies.
After reviewing many, many ads a couple of McDonalds advertisements caught my eye. The first one is a woman with her two children. This mother, who has an obvious stressed look on her face, is dressed very casual. Jeans and a t-shirt with slip on shoes, her hair is in rollers and her arms are twisted around her body in knots while each hand is holding the hand of each of her children. One child is holding a teddy bear and the other a cookie. Being a mother myself, this ad stood out most among the others. It can be very stressful being a parent. You have the job of being the one who makes the family run smoothly as well as everything in-between. My second ad choice is very simple, it shows a vacant construction site where two excavators join together to form a yellow M as well as a toolbox with a set of pliers inside that also join to form a yellow M. This ad is simple and clever. Construction workers usually eat fast food because it is a quick and easy choice. Both of these ads lure them toward McDonalds food.
The marketers in these advertisements are trying to sway specific types of the population. The ad with a picture of a mother and her two children speaks a thousand words. Sometimes motherhood can be overwhelming and stressful. It makes you feel as though you have a million things to do and not enough time in the day to get everything done that needs to be.
