CHAPTER 1
The Problem and its Background
Introduction
A dirty environment brings out a lot of disadvantages for the ones living within it, including the people. It can cause a spread of diseases and it can also harm the environment by means of pollution. We already know that living in a dirty environment can do us harm, so that is not the problem. The problem is, some people do not know how to classify whether a certain area is dirty or not.

The focus of this research is only within the vicinity of Elizabeth Seton School-South. The group chose this place since this research can be very beneficial for everyone since the researchers are members of this school community as well, as graduating students. Aside from that, the group wants to improve the school for the benefits of the students who will still be staying in ESS-South for the next years.

In a school, children can never be out of sight. Thus, their safety should always be considered. Since students’ health is an important matter, cleanliness of the school should always be considered. A dirty environment can be very harmful for them, especially to the younger ones, who still do not know the difference of a clean environment from a dirty one. This research would be a very great help to improve the school’s cleanliness and to bring safety to the people in this community. Statement of the Problem

This research focuses on the different places in Elizabeth Seton School-South which are considered to be dirty or unsanitized. This topic was chosen to inform the school community about the unclean places in the school and their effects to the population in general. The researchers also sought to teach the population some simple household remedies that can help clean these unsanitized areas. Through this research, the group believes that the school can improve the cleanliness of its surroundings.
