Civil Rights Movement
Claudette Moore
Axia College University of Phoenix
It all began in Montgomery Alabama 1952, there was a black woman named
Rosa Parks, whom declined to listen to the bus driver’s demand that she relinquish her seat to make room for a white passenger that did not have anywhere to sit on the crowded bus. For this reason she dismissed his order and subsequently, she was arrested and convicted of disobeying the Jim Crow Laws. During that same period, small town activists embarked on a boycott of the Montgomery bus system. The boycott turned out to be successful and gained national attention. The Civil Rights Movement was a good movement to help gain rights for minorities because it was necessary and blacks were treated unfairly.
