MY ROLE AS SENIOR PROJECT QUANTITY SURVEYOR AT CONSTRUCTION OF SOBHA BERYL –LUXURY APARTMENTS
INTRODUCTION- (50 words)
CE1.1 As soon as I completed my Engineering degree, I begin my career in M/s. Sobha Developers Ltd in May 2007 .I was assigned for the Construction of Sobha Beryl – Luxury Apartments at Bangalore, India. I worked as a site based senior project Quantity surveyor from May 2007 to September 2008.
BACKGROUND- (483 words)
CE1.2 Sobha Developers ltd, one of the leading MNC Company and they are the best Real Estate promoters constructing high rise residential apartments in India. It is a public sector company with Bangalore as a base and had regional offices in various part of India. Our company had launched a new project named “ Sobha Beryl – Luxury Apartments” in the year 2007 .The project was located in Bangalore – Pune highway which is about 15Kms away from the city of Bangalore, India . Apart from Real Estate projects, our company was one of the main civil contractors for Infosys building in various parts of India and they have constructed commercial buildings, Corporate offices etc.
CE1.3 Sobha Beryl is a fifteen storied high rise luxury apartment consists of 160 no’s of 3 bedroom flats. The total structure is divided into three blocks named as Block 1A, 1B & 2. The Structure has two common basements with car parks. The structure was termed as 2B+G.F+15 (2 basement +ground floor+15 floors). The Super Built Up area is 2, 82,947.50 Sqm.
CE1.4 The elements of style includes Teak wood front door, large aluminium framed windows, vitrified ceramic floors for living ,family, kitchen & dining rooms, white mosaic for bedroom, marbles for staircase, premium sanitary fixtures and bath fittings, granite counter top in kitchens, attractive interior decorations & fittings concealed copper wiring with electrical safety devices & circuit breakers, top rated insulated copper pipes,etc. The project include greenish landscaped surroundings, visitors’ parking lot, massive UG sumps, Swimming pool ,Play grounds ,continuous water & power supply, efficient wastewater & sewage disposal system and peripheral storm water size stone masonry structure.
CE1.5 The Main objective of the project was to construct the apartments within the stipulated 890 days durations and deliver to the clients on scheduled time with high quality standards. The project commenced on 14th May 2007 and it has to be completed by 19th October 2009.The critical activity of the project was to cast every floor slab in 13 days cycle. The first target to complete the structure was 10 months. Apart from client needs the project should be executed well within the estimated value. Also the apartments have to be constructed with high quality execution procedure and method of statements in order to meet the high quality of German standards.

CE1.7 I was actively involved in this project right from the mobilization stage. Even though I had a crucial role in inter department, execution team and vendor co-ordination my major responsibilities are as follows,
• Project planning ,programming and scheduling the works,
• Physical progress tracking and monitoring
• Delay analysis and recovery schedules
• Material Purchase request and work order request
• Resource arrangement and coordination
• Measurement of Quantities for Purchase request
• Subcontractor & Work order Bill certification
• Project representative for ISO internal & External Auditing
• Preparing Daily, Weekly, Monthly & management reports.
