Exploration and analysis have been the essence of my life, guiding me through the most mystifying predicaments and has been my inquisitiveness. With my good score in engineering common entrance test I took to gain entrance into  **** .
 
I then proceeded to take up Civil Engineering as my major because it seemed to encompass all the facets of my interest. Indeed, the course structure offered by the Civil Engineering department is quite outstanding and my perspective and understanding have received tremendous fillips.
 
It was the field of Transportation Engineering that captured my interest. Transportation Engineering has invariably contributed to the development of industry and infrastructure. Transportation Engineering has influenced the quality of every day life, determining the way we live and the way we do business. The complex interactions existing among the components of transportation system and the intricacies of the planning process for such a dynamic system have deeply fascinated me.
 
My grasp of the fundamental aspects of Transportation Engineering has been fortified by the courses that I have taken: Transportation Engineering I and II, Portand Harbor Engineering, Materials of constructions and Pavement Engineering Laboratory. I also opted for a self-study course in Transportation Project Planning and Evaluation to broaden my perspective of Transportation projects .I have also supplemented my analytical skills with electives in Linear programming, Numerical Analysis and Probability and Statistics.
 
The practical knowledge I received in my summer Training was really inspiring, when I was a part of a team of trainees working for National Authority of Highways India (NHAI). Here I took the task of performing a study of testing of materials procured for Roads, mix design.... [continues]
