The wind blew so hard that it was able to wake me up but in my shock, I saw myself sitting in the waiting shed in front of our school. I tried to remember what has happened a while ago and boom! I was supposed to go home when I was waiting for a bus to come, I suddenly fell asleep. But in my confusion, nobody tried to wake me up, sad isn’t it?

Instead of thinking so much for that, I hurriedly looked for my wrist watch because I removed it when I attended the flag lowering. It took me couple of minutes before I found my watch. When I looked at it, I only saw a longer hand pointing at 12 and I cannot see the shorter one. It means it was exactly 12 midnight. I know that no bus will pass by at that time because the last trip in Maragondon, I think is 10 pm but I still waited for a bus to come.

Suddenly, I heard the creepy creaking sound of the gate being open by … ITSELF? I started being nervous. Then, I saw students who are coming inside the school. I followed them with a question inside my mind, “Why are they going to school at this time?”

When I followed them, I was able to pass through the gate and I was shocked that whenever they are passing through the gate, they will teleport on the opposite side of the gate. With this, I noticed that they were obliged to pass through the gate with their heavy bags on their back and on their feet. I think one foot has 5 kilograms weight. There I saw Kuya Eddie, our gatekeeper. He is saying to the students that the students should pass through the gate.

I was so confused that I asked Kuya Eddie what is happening. He answered me “They are the latecomers and this is the First Circle of Hell in CavSci: The Laggards. Here, they are punished by continuously going inside the school but they are not allowed.”

I decided to walk around the school. While walking through the pathway in front of the JAICA Building, I heard muttering of students inside the library. Because of my curiosity, I

Tired, with a headache, and not in capacity to maintain my eyes open, I remembered next day was Halloween, which was the last thing I remembered before falling sleep. I woke up and saw the watch, it was three o’clock a.m. I listened to a weird sound that came from my closet; it was soft, but I could hear it like a rat scratching the walls. Intrigued about what was happening, I woke up and walked towards the closet. The sound gave me the chills.…

On a chilly autumn day, Calyssa Rynden stepped out of her fourth period of Lidden Middle School. The school had brick walls, and concrete pavements. It was the typical middle school. She glanced around, anxiously watching for Morgan Lyne and Felicity Walker. Morgan always jumped at every chance to insult Calyssa and make her life miserable. Felicity always smirked at her and gave Morgan more power. Calyssa peered around a corner, but there was no Morgan. She quickly walked toward the cafeteria. Maybe today she could get a seat inside. The building came into sight, and she walked faster. If she got in before Morgan and Felicity, she had a fair chance of getting a spot, even if she had to sit with other weirdos. Calyssa clutched her backpack…

83% of juniors at South St. Paul Secondary High School complain about their teachers, schoolwork, and the lack of a social life due to IB classes. On Thursday, the 11th grade students at South St. Paul High School all cheered and yelled as the bell rang at 2:35 for the day to be over and a three-day weekend to begin. As the students quickly rushed to their lockers, grabbed their backpacks and ran out the school, we overheard conversations of plans for the week. We stopped to speak to a girl clearly on a mission to get home. As we walked quickly behind her, she said loudly, “I’m sick and damn tired of all these people I just want to go home and watch Netflix for three days!” She then sped up and ran away from us.…

Once I reached the door, I realized it was still open since midday. I came inside and heard just the wind breezing through the entire house. I thought it strange of him to just leave without announcing of his departure. I walk around suspecting him to be asleep after going up, not realizing he has left his property unlocked. I search about looking for him, but to no avail, until I reached his study.…

When I saw my mom get up slowly then quickly walk to the small room I wondered what was going on, but nothing bad came to mind. While my dad happily named the first pup Baltimore Raven Zapata, after the football team, I went to my room and layed on my bed as my body sunk into the comfort of my pillows and blankets. As I dozed off, I could hear the cheering of fans on the T.V. and that little shut eye felt like I slept a whole three hours.…

I was sitting in the classroom when the principal came on the intercom, announcing that the bells would be delayed, and those not staying after school to go to the cafeteria. So several classmates and I started headed to the lunchroom. As we walked in, teachers with panicky and terrified faces frantically directed us to the tables. People were whispering, crying, and yelling and screaming. I sat down at one of the long, smooth, freezing brown tables, waiting anxiously to hear what was happening. I looked around and saw ugly white walls and tons of people. As more students poured in the vast cafeteria, teachers and administrators were walking hurriedly around, with horrified faces, and tear marks streaming down their faces. I, as many others, looked puzzled, student to student, wondering what in the world was going on.…

The elevator tells me we settled, on the last floor, with a ding, and a screech, elevator doors open. I step out unsteadily. There is only one hallway in the basement, that leads to the only classroom and back to the elevator, or stairs. The classroom is dead ahead. Mr. Fiedler must have let us out really early. I reach the door, it has the body of an oval, with two black windows, but you can’t see anything through them. The door is scorching hot with a massive layer of ash. Scarcely attached to the door, is a charred Christmas wreath buried behind dozens of murky chains. Cautiously, I grab my plastic flimsy ruler. Snap! I break the ruler on my leg, holding my fingers as distant as I possibly can, I swiftly open the door, with only half, of the injured ruler…

As I sat in class, my mind started to walk out of the door that bounded me to consciousness. The teacher started to discuss to the class about the homework on Descartes's Rule of Signs, and to regain composure, I picked up my Calculus textbook that I borrowed from my teacher, but then put it down as realizations formed. The one reason that I was stuck in this mind-numbing class repeated in my head with the voices of my peers. The issue was rooted in the school that I attended previous to high school.…

The classroom seemed disjointed; there was no focal point in the room. Everyone seemed to be intrigued with something different, their attention was divided. An urgent ring echoed through my reverie. It brought connotations to my mind that it was a message that had significance. My friend Darlene kept her glance down at the floor while Francine moved over to a different chair as soon as I sat down. At first I did not seem to think anything of it, as it was the first day back to school. The first day back to school is always laid back and tiring. I opened my mouth but not a single word came out, I immediately thought something was wrong when Darlene disappeared to the bathroom without a single noise. Francine glared at me for what seems like hours, but I know to only be seconds. I concentrated on the white walls and how they drifted onto the ceiling. I could not bring myself to look Francine in the eyes at this moment. Whenever Darlene sat across from me, I finally looked up. Believing I was ready to hear the words from her mouth was an absolute lie to myself. Now, once and for all, I listened to the noises that were spilling out, but comprehending them was a different…

Walking through the abandoned high school hallways was even scarier at night, especially with the news that had gone all around about two teens who were found dead in our school parking lot three weeks ago. To this day the killer is still on the run, nowhere to be found. Quickly I head towards my car and at the same time feel a cold shiver go up my spine, I try to ignore it. I realize itś a Friday the day when most teens head out to the cabin hidden deep within the woods to have some fun. My friend Grace and brother Caleb were going so why shouldn’t I ? Heading towards the cabin I keep remembering about that tingly sensation on my back giving me the chills it felt as if a spider had crawled all over me. “ No , just ignore it” I kept telling myself over and over. When I returned to my five senses I realized I had already passed the cabin, quickly I made a U-turn and coincidentally the car behind me did too. It didn't bother me much until after having driven for 10 minutes the same car was trailing me! I realized the driver was following…
