A Christmas Carol

The title of the Novel is A Christmas Carol, by Charles Dickens.   The main character in this story is named Scrooge. Scrooge comes to meet many different people in his life. These people all have at least one trait that Scrooge does not have. He learns a lot from each person through out the book. Especially from three specific characters, these characters consist of Bob Cratchit, Jacob Marley, and Fred.
Bob Cratchit   is a father who works for Scrooge. He has to raise a family of six children and his wife. On top of all of this, he abused by Scrooge. Scrooge forces this hard working man to work endless hours with out break and pays him little to nothing. Although Bob is highly mistreated, he lives with it for the sake of his family. He provides his family with the little money Scrooge grants him. Bob has a crippled son who has to care for, which makes his life all the more difficult. Bob is a generous man, Scrooge is in way shape or form generous at all. The only thing e cares about is making profit, he does not care how he gets it.
The next person Scrooge learns from is his nephew Fred. When Fred invited Scrooge to a Christmas party, all Scrooge could do was go on and on about how absurd and pointless Christmas is, but to Fred’s surprise he accepted the invitation. Fred was Delighted that Scrooge accepted the invitation and decided to attend his party. Fred’s happiness is something Scrooge does not have. He is always so angry and bitter no matter what. It’s a terrible trait to have but being around his nephew was a good influence for the grouchy old man.
The last person to rub off a trait that Scrooge did not have to start out with was Jacob Marley. Jacob and Scrooge were very similar. They were both selfish and rude to people. When Scrooge died, his ghost came back to warn Scrooge of his eternal punishment, he now has to roam earth bearing heavy chains for being so cruel and... [continues]
