General information: Chinese New Year is also known as the Lunar New Year or the Spring Festival. Lunar because it s based on a lunisolar calendar (moon phase and solar year) and spring because it s the beginning of Spring.
You celebrate the first day of the chinese calendar, but basically it s a long chinese holiday starting from the first day until the Lantern Festival on the last day.
