The growth of early literacy skills through early experiences with books and stories is crucially linked to a child’s success in learning how to read. Learning to read at an early age is extremely vital for children. All children are attracted to books that they can get involved in. Kinesthetic reading is a fantastic way for parents to get their children to take pleasure in books. It is essential for children to learn key literacy skills before they enter elementary school. Children do better later in life if they begin reading as a child. Once children have mastered the reading skills, they begin to enjoy reading and learning.
Children learn to read at a young age during their developmental stage. Children will begin by learning to speak the forms of languages. Soon, they start to match the words with their meanings. When children start to hear new words, they will add them to their vocabulary. Reading to children is tremendously important. “ They listen to their favorite stories and retell them on their own” (Koralek 2). When parents read aloud to their children, they expand their vocabulary, and the children begin to comprehend what they are listening to or reading (Koralek 3). Children will start to see the words and follow along when a parent or teacher is reading aloud to them. They will start pronouncing words themselves when they hear how they are pronounced and what the words look like. “They can recall some of the words the teacher reads aloud and figure out others because they remember the sequence and meaning of the story” (Koralek 7).
Children will become amused with reading a book over and over again for several days
