CYPOP5 – understand how to set up a homebased Childcare service About the CouRse
‘Understand how to set up a home-based childcare service’ (CYPOP5) is a four-credit unit of the ‘Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young People’s Workforce’. This unit is the training course that PACEY recommends to meet the requirements for becoming a registered childminder. In many areas this course is the approved introductory course for those wishing to become registered childminders working with children aged 0-19.

We have refreshed the content of our CYPOP5 course to ensure it effectively prepares potential childminders for registration, delivery of the revised Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) from September 2012 and running a business. The training enables prospective childminders to meet the requirements of the childcare regulator Ofsted. It will prepare prospective childminders to handle ongoing Ofsted inspections successfully.

Benefits of PACEY’s CYPOP5 course include: • our online course enables learners to overcome geographic isolation and provides flexibility around other commitments • learners are provided with a free printed course textbook • additional online guides are available in the dedicated resource section of our e-learning platform • for additional support learners can contact their dedicated assessor directly through our online system, alternatively they can email training@pacey.org.uk for support from the Professional Standards Administration Team.
