Childhood obesity

This paper is going to discuss childhood obesity. This paper is going to be about the American people who are obese. One of the main reasons that this is a big deal is because there are so many children that weighs over one-hundred pounds at the age of eight or younger.
Per one-hundred thousand persons in the USA twenty one aged zero to fourteen years has Type 1 diabetes. The percent of children aged eleven to fifteen years are overweight or obese in the USA is thirty percent. (Health at a Glance 2009: OECD Indicators 9). The doctors are saying that about one-third of Americans are obese or overweigh. The doctors are also saying that the number of overweight children has tripled to seventeen percent in the past thirty years. (Business Wire. New York: Jan 13, 2012). They are also saying that obesity leads to a lot of health problems. Some of the health problems that they are mentioning are high blood pressure, high cholesterol and type 2 diabetes. Obesity can cause low self-esteem problems too. (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention CDC) (Business Wire. New York: Jan 13, 2012). Doctors are saying that there are three primary factors for obese children. The first factor of childhood obesity is not eating the proper foods. They are eating foods with a lot of sugar and carbohydrates in them. They should be eating foods that are high in protein. They also need to be eating fresh fruits and vegetables.
The second factor for childhood obesity is that they are not getting enough exercise during the day. The children would rather go and watch television than go and walk around for an hour. They would also rather play on a game system like xbox360, playstation3, or the Wii. If the parents would make the children get out and do some activities during the summer they would probably be more fit. They need to get out and do some school athletics during the summer....
