In an era when it is increasing obesity is threaten our nation, we are cutting out the very programs that could help prevent Child Obesity. There is a decline in how much physical education and nutrition that our children are receiving, because of the pressure to test the children to chart their academic performances the lack of physical activity and poor diet is the second leading cause of preventable death in the United States (Health Policy Guide). There have been more then nine million children that are over weight since 1996.
Managing and preventing Obesity in the children is a concern problem children need to be taught to develop a good eating habit to avoid gaining access weight. Parents should be checking with their child doctors to confirm that Obesity is not genetic, do to some other kind of medical problems. Parents can help the child by being supportive of them. The role of the media is in Child Obesity since years ago, the proportion of over weight children ages 6 to 11 has tippled. Today about 10 percent of children ages to 2 to 5 years old and the 15 percent of the ages of 6 to 19 years old are also over weight. During the same period which Child Obesity in creased, there was an increase in the media has targeted to the children these days.
At the young age, children who are obese will more likely to have Cardiovascular Disease including high blood pressures, high cholesterol , dyslipidemia and have type two diabetes. Not only they have cardiovascular disease but they will also have liver damage, asthma and sleep apnea. To preserve our children from health problems like these, physical education should show and be provided more at home and school; parents and school should be considering monitoring their child’s diet and parent’s school and the community need to control the environment and the influence our children.
