Child obesity has greatly increased in the past years. In this research paper I plan to address the issue, and propose some solutions for this problem that we cannot seem to control or maintain. Health is something that we as parents need to take seriously for our kids, healthier eating habits, and routinely fitness and exercise need to be taken into consideration. So many risk factors are caused by obesity these days, some associated with cardiovascular diseases (high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and type 2 diabetes). We parents have to be better role models for these kids; after all it’s their futures that were putting at risk, not ours.
In the time that I have taken to look into and research on this certain topic, I have found plenty of very useful and reliable websites as well as articles written and actual research studies that have been taken with recorded information, stating the facts that obesity has quite increased a whole lot, and how people are committed but the problem is not at all organized. Child obesity has increased in numbers from 5 to 10.4% between 1976-1980 and 2007-2008 and from 6.5 to 19.6% among 6-11 year olds.   Among adolescents aged 12-19, obesity increased from 5 to 18.1% during the same period. (http://www.cdc.gov/obesity/childhood/index.html). Seems to me like the numbers have insanely gone up, there is no rightful explanation for this, healthy and fit is the way to be, rather than have our kids be unfit and have health problems later in their adult life.
It seems to me that the scope and nature of this problem begins with us parents who need to take this problem more into consideration rather than just accept it as a problem or a lifestyle for our children. If we the parents of the child(s) were to be a bit more supportive and interested in how we could find a solution to this problem rather than just accept it, then we would be doing a very thoughtful...
