Child obesity and Driving while using a cell phone

      Humanity is plagued with many problems. In this paper I will discuss two which seem to be prevalent in western culture, primarily in America; child obesity and driving while using a cell phone. I do not have to go far to find each.   As I get into my vehicle mere moments pass until I see someone on a cell phone as they drive and all I have to do to find an overweight child is go in public.   These two situations are problems that we as Americans should find conviction about but it seems that we are not very concerned.   Americans need to be educated about the consequences that follow the bad decisions leading up to both child obesity and driving while using a cell phone.
      First I would like to present the problem of child obesity.   The future of America is relying on a remedy to this problem.   If this “epidemic” as Dr. Paussaint calls it, is not dealt with then medical problems will plague the next generation.   The range of obese children has increased in the past 30 years from 13% to 20% and rising states Paussaint; or as stated in the article, Child obesity in America, 15% of children are overweight.   In the article, Childhood overweight and obesity prevention, the number of children overweight are put into real numbers of about 12.5 million. The article, Child obesity in America, states that if the stats of overweight children are combined with the stats of obese children then one third of the populations of children are overweight. Dr. Edward list medical problems that overweight children suffer from some of which are asthma, sleep disorders, and diabetes.   This equates to 33% of America’s future population as overweight and plagued with medical problems as a result.
