Child Abuse Awareness and Prevention
In order to help abused or neglected children, one must learn to recognize the signs of child abuse and neglect. The presence of a single sign does not prove child abuse is occurring in a family. However, when more than one sign appears over and over again or multiple signs are present, you should take a closer look at the situation to determine whether or not the child is being abused. There are many ways to prevent child abuse, especially being able to understand what the signs are and what steps an onlooker could and should take.
To decide whether or not a child is being abused you must watch and not be hasty on your decision. You should watch for bruises, black eyes, broken limbs, withdrawal from everyone, poor school work, hitting other children, biting with force. The signs of abuse could include any of the signs above but are definitely not limited to these signs.
The most important thing you can do to report child abuse is to call the National Child Abuse Hotline to find out where and how to file a report.
