In this lab we were give 9 different elements and had to determine if they were Single Displacement, Double Displacement, Synthesis, Decomposition and Combustion. A.) Aluminum and Copper (II) Chloride, my hypothesis is a Single Displacement. B.) Calcium Carbide and Water, my hypothesis is a Double Displacement. C.) Zinc and Hydrochloric Acid, my hypothesis is a Single Displacement. D.) Alcohol and Oxygen, my hypothesis is a Combustion. E.) Lead (II) Nitrate and Potassium Iodide, my hypothesis a Double displacement. F.) Copper and oxygen, my hypothesis is a synthesis. G Magnesium and oxygen, my hypothesis is a synthesis. H.) Acetic acid and Sodium bicarbonate, my hypothesis is a double displacement. I.) Copper (II) carbonate and Hydrochloric acid, my hypothesis is a double displacement.

Data: Attached.
Conclusion:
Experiment A. Aluminum and Copper (II) Chloride. In this experiment I filled a large test tube with one dropper full of Copper (II) Chloride solution. Then, I added a small pice of aluminum foil and the observed. In my observation the aluminum started to burn and dissolved. Yes, my hypothesis was correct for this experiment.

Experiment B. Calcium Carbide and Water. In this experiment I filled a large test tube with one dropper full of water. Secondly, I added one piece of calcium carbide. Then, I added a flaying wood splint to the test tube. In my observation it started to bubble and made a popping noise. Yes, my hypothesis was correct for this experiment.

Experiment C. Zinc and Hydrochloric acid. First I filled a large test tube with 1 dropped full of HCl. Then I got a second test ready. Then, I placed a small amount of zinc in the first test tube and immediately placed the second test tube. Then my partner took a flaming wood splint and placed it between the two test tubes. In my observation it smoked and make a boom sound. Yes, my hypothesis was correct in this experiment.

Experiment D. Alcohol and Oxygen. This...
