Inspired by the great desire to be of service and touch the lives of Filipino children, Saint Maria Goretti School of San Pedro opened its doors to the school children of St. Joseph Village in June 2011. It is a non-sectarian Institution that envisions an educational experience that is highly connected with the holistic growth of students. Saint Maria Goretti School of San Pedro was named in honor of the patron saint of young children which provides education for students of all abilities and from all walks of life. S.M.G.S. stands for Saint Maria Goretti School of San Pedro. Under the abbreviated name of the school, follows the (3) core values in Italian terms: Purezza, Fortitudo and Pietta. At the bottom is the year of its foundation, 2011 and the SMGS symbols at the center of the emblem. The shield-like shape of the emblem represents Fortitude (Fortitudo) for it is in that gift of the Holy Spirit that one can instill and encourage habits of bravery; strength of mind to bear pain with the courage to reject sin.
