Executive Summary
This paper describes the change management process that is currently taking place at the United Nations Offices in Nairobi, specifically in the United Nations Environmental Program (UNEP). The report will cover the scope of the project, the methodology used in achieving the objectives, and the analysis theory pertaining to leadership, employee involvement, communication, culture and performance differences in relation to change management. The objectives of the leadership and change management process are to: Develop conscious training of employees by taking into account distinct behavior, wants and needs, and the numerous dimensions of the human character; Move beyond dexterity to real integration based on shared cognition and common understanding of multiple angles and views; Instill a culture for revolution by all employees in all functions and areas of the business. A task force team will propose a plan to alter not the actual structure, but the culture and systems within the existing core work designs of the organization. This will be done by initiating a variety of projects with the aim of changing the values, attitudes and beliefs that shape the organization and its environment. This proposal will provide an overview of an implementation plan, and will reflect the proposed changes and the impetus for change. The paper further contains a self‐analysis that explains my appropriateness as a leader and change mediator and describes the literature resources and the methodology being engaged to realize the change process.

2Project Scope
The purpose of this study is to demonstrate how the structures, systems and culture of an organization will be re-constructed to maintain a status quo existence, throughout the change management process. The study will form the basis of the main project, and will be used as an implementation plan to celebrate the UN World Environment Day, which will be marking forty one years in 2013, and will be focusing on key environmental achievements over the last four decades. The United Nations in Nairobi requires an implementation plan that will lead to this change management process to create awareness of climate change and its significance to going green. The organization has therefore set up a task force unit, of which I am the team leader, called the UN Go Green Initiative Task Force, whose role will be to come up with an Implementation Plan and highly effective Communication Strategy that will adopt the Organizational Development (OD) Model for change.
