Challenges of a paper
As a student, some challenges may arise when writing an essay that may stop me from writing an effective essay. The first challenge that I need to overcome is procrastination. I tend to put important tasks off, and as we all know, it is stressful when you are trying to meet the deadline. It makes me feel rushed and guilty. It takes time to write a substantial essay so I can brainstorm ideas, proofread, and edit the paper. I cannot write a substantial paper in five minutes. The second challenge that I may face is the lack of sentence variety and rhythm. Without elaborating, I catch myself going straight to the point when I write. Jumping from one topic to the next without transitional words or phrases is confusing. This problem causes my essay not to have a nice rhythm or to be clear of what I am trying to communicate to my audience. The last challenge that may arise when writing my paper is the repetition of ideas and key words or phrases. Sometimes it is impossible to change the word because it may be the subject, but I can rephrase other words. Recognizing the problems can help a reader find solutions.
Overcoming these challenges can be possible using strategies. The first step is to recognize the problem so that I can develop a plan to overcome my writing obstacles. Procrastination can be overcome by making a schedule and sticking to it. Setting a goal to complete it and reminding myself constantly has helped me in the past. I can prioritize my assignments and decide which ones need to be done immediately and those that can wait, so that I can have enough time for each one of them. To defeat the sentence variety and rhythm problem, I plan on putting to practice what I have learned in my previous composition class. For instance, adding different lengths of sentences throughout my essay to add detail and connect them one to another. I can also change the beginning of a sentence by using an adverb, an adjective, or a prepositional phrase.... [continues]
