How have Cell Phones changed us socially?
Innovations in society inevitably change us either for good or bad. Most however are double edged and bring with them both positive and negative effects to society. Cell phones are no different and their effect on our society has been drastic to say the least. There are many benefits that have been occasioned by the invention of mobile phones and have made life easier and better. Some of this includes facilitation in the acquisition of knowledge through mobile internet, enhancing communication because of their portability and increased trade and employment. There are several negative impacts to society among them being death and injury due to accidents while driving and talking or texting on the phone. Positive Influences of Cell Phones to Society
Telephones were one of the most innovative items of the previous century and have revolutionized the way people interact. Traditionally people had to rely on cumbersome processes to transmit data and information over long distances and communication was slow and ineffective. Moreover, communication abilities differed greatly depending on the society and some had more advantages over others. Sending urgent messages was problematic and grave consequences existed due to this inability or inadequacy to communicate using fast and reliable techniques. Therefore, the invention of the telephone provided a medium through which parties can communicate instantly regardless of distance or location. Moreover, telephones are a globally accepted mode of communication and the uniformity makes fast communication in any society possible. In addition, telephones opened up the room for further innovations which further made the transmission of data and relying of information.
