Cell

Cellular phone use is out of control. Everyone has been to a meeting, a school, a wedding, or maybe even a funeral and heard a cell phone ring. How rude! Doesn’t anyone realize that there are power buttons to those things? Everyone sees people yakking on their cell phones while driving, shopping, and even eating,. Anyone would think that people knew nothing of cell phone manners. Doesn’t anyone realize there are such things as appropriate, private, and safe cell phone use?

There are appropriate places to use cellular phones in our lives. People have family emergencies and need a cell phone to contact people or have people contact them. Some people have work cell phones because their jobs require them. For example, doctors, physicians assistants, electric company workers, or anyone that might have to be on call. Sometimes a doctor needs to be called in the middle of the night because of an emergency and he would have a cell phone so he could be contacted no matter where he would be.

However, people tend to use their cell phones in the most inappropriate places. Some treat their cell phones as a toy. While in a meeting, at class, in church, or at a wedding, people should turn their phones off or at least on vibrate. It is very rude to be giving a speech or trying to be paying attention and be interrupted by the tune of a cell phone ringing. People need to respect each other. If Sammy is talking to Cal in the hallway and her cell phones rings, she starts talking to who another friend on the phone and forgets she was holding a conversation with Cal. How Rude!

Not only are cell phones being used inappropriately, but people are also disregarding privacy issues. Not everyone needs to know everyone’s business, who everyone is friends with, or what their plans are for the upcoming weekend. Someone on the phone does not need to speak so loud that everyone hears. Nobody really cares if Sara’s best friend is going to wear her red shirt Friday instead of Saturday.... [continues]
