Celebration of Feast of Saint Dominic
"St. Dominic, Man of Compassion" serves as the theme of this year celebration of the Feast of St. Dominic from August 1-7, 2012 and the program held on August 14 of the same year at Pilgrims Center.
The celebration started from August 1-3, by the three-day prayer or the tridum attributed for St. Dominic. The different contests like the poster making held on August 6 while the quiz bee and poem composition was conducted on the next day, August 7. Many artistic, intelligent students and born to be like Shakespeare participated in the said contests.
During the main celebration, there are two other contests held, the singing contest which harmonic and alluring voices of the contestants were showcased. Another is the role playing that Fundamentals of Music students participated in.
The excitement felt when the announcing of winners in the different were finally heard. For the quiz bee Corazon Roque won the first place, Jasmine Doria for second place and Angelica Enriquez for the third place.
Melanie Retumalta got the first place for being poetic in the poem composition contest. Next, were Jacqueline Tabion and Brendon Natividad for the second and third place respectively.
For the poster making contest, Danilo Flores proved that he was the most artistic among the contestants that made him to the top. Jesson Jeed Sobrepeña got the second place and for the third place is Israel Lustre.
And when Diana Bautista sang her winning piece "On my Own", the crowd had on doubt that she will be the winner in the singing contest. Sydney Segis for the second and Juvani Baltazar got the third place.
In the role playing of Miracles of St. Dominic, the "Casting the demon who appeared in the form of lizard who tried to abstract his preaching" reap the first place, followed by the group performed the "Bread from the Heaven" and the "Cast Away of 7 Demons" group for the
