People migrate because of environmental, political, and economic factors. The Bantu people migrated south because of environmental factors such as the Sahara advancing toward them, a push factor, and an abundance of land further south, a pull factor. The Aksumites migrated inland because of political factors like escaping the incoming wave of Islam, a push factor, and the ability to practice Christianity, a pull factor. The Ghanan people migrated inland because of an economic factor that they could become rich off mining gold, a pull factor. These African nations are great examples of why people migrate.

The Bantu people are a group that migrated because of push and pull environmental factors like the Sahara advancing toward them, and an abundance of land. The climate change created by the Sahara desert moving south pushed the Bantu people out of their home and to the south. The Bantu people were also pulled south by the abundance of fertile soil. The Bantu people migrated south because of environmental factors such as the Sahara advancing toward them, a push factor, and an abundance of land further south, a pull factor.

Political factors such as the incoming wave of Islam, a push factor, and the ability to practice Christianity a pull factor caused the Aksumites to migrate inland. The Aksumites were oppressed by the Islamic invaders forcing them to move toward inland Africa. They were also pulled inland because they would have religious freedom, the ability the practice Christianity. The Aksumites migrated inland because of push and pull political factors like escaping the incoming wave of Islam, and the ability to practice Christianity.

The Ghanan people migrated inland because of an economic pull factor that they could become rich by mining gold. An economic pull factor is increase of salary.
