(11) Their lives are thrown out of proportion for them from the homework build up and will cause too much stress on them which results into depression. (26) Stress build up can actually cause a student to drop out of high school. (14) They feel as if they can’t handle it all and dropping out is the only solution to get away from the stress. (22) 4/8
Parents and teachers need to start realizing how much stress students go through during high school and college. (18) Academic, social, and extracurricular stress all piled onto one student can make them start to fall into bad habits. (19) Do you really want your child to turn to alcohol and drugs from all the stress? (16) Depression is another thing no parent wants to see their kid go through. (13) Also, a student dropping out of high school is no way to handle stress, especially when you want to see them succeed in life. (24) Teachers need to look at how much homework is given each night and keep the students in mind and have in consideration they are most likely going to have more homework in all their seven classes. When we first received this assignment, numerous ideas flew through my head. Since I have lived in Saint Louis for my entire life, it is extremely simple for me to see the problems that exist in our society. Although I can see these problems particularly easy, it may not be so clear for men to see these troubles. Nature versus nurture, religion, and race are just a few of the problems that exist today for an American female. Those are just a few of the thousands of causes and effects that one might see in American cultures. Since there are so many cultures living within one, it makes it extraordinarily hard to fit the image of the perfect American girl.
