Causation of Crime

The two theories I chose were choice theories and the other is sociological theories. As far as comparison I did not find any. Now as for contrast I found a good deal of differences. I did not find any. To start with, a choice theory is where an individual makes a concise decision to commit a crime for his or her personal gain. With choice theory, a person an choose between committing a crime an dot committing it. This type of individual consist of rewards and punishment; the consequences of not commotion the crime as well as his or her personal gains or losses. The larger the ratio, the greater the chances that the person will commit a particular crime.
Now as for sociological theories, the difference here is that professionals seem to believe that social theory comes from where a particular person was raised up at, people who are disadvantaged because of poverty pr that are more likely to cause these type of people to commit crime. Also, this has to so with high crime areas will develop their own cultures that are in constant conflict with worth the dominant culture and create their own cycle of crimes such as gangs and things of that nature, which consumes the youth who grow up in the area and on to be career criminals. These are the contrast I find in the readings.
The crime trend I chose was of Carolyn Correa. Her crime fits perfectly with the choice theory, as with what I wrote about. The crime itself was a crime of personal gain; she also created a smoke screen in order to believe she had already weighed to execute her plan which as far as what she would receive if her plan went accordingly. This person already asked herself if the possible benefit of criminal activity against the expected cost of being apprehended. So, in conclusion when the benefits are greater that the expected cost. The offender will make a choice to commit a crime.
