Cassius Marcellus Clay Jr knows as Muhammad Ail was born on January 17, 1942 in Louisville, Kentucky. Cassius clay was his slave name and he really didn’t like it his speech i am America was about how he is not afraid to stand up to any body and shows that he has no fear in his blood and to just stand up and do what’s right Cassius clay was a man of words he gave a speech before every fight and he even try’s to Embarrassed the others fights. Muhammad Ali had a purpose to show other people that he would not go fight in the army “No I am not going 10,000 miles to help murder kill and burn other people to simply help continue the domination of white slave masters over dark people the world over. This is the day and age when such evil injustice must come to an end” he believes that since he is an American he should have his own right to go to the army. Cassius Clay see stuff way different because the main idea of the quote was to show people that u have the right to choose what u want to do. Muhammad Ail ended up not going to the army or to jail why because he made a point when he went to court he made everybody realized that u can speak your mind and to show that are civil rights do matter.

Am America. I am the part you won't recognize. But get
Used to me. Black, confident, cocky; my name, not yours;
My religion, not yours; my goals, my own; get used to me.” ― Muhammad Ali
