In early April, Carl Robins recruited new hires to work for Monica Carrols operations team. The Operations Manager Monica Carrols, instructed Carl to organize the training schedule for the 15 trainees. The training schedule will start on June 15th and will address the ABC, Inc. working manual, company policy, drug test, and a physical. The company manuals and policy briefs will be held in the company training room and the drug test and physical will be schedule at a local clinic. One day after Memorial Day, Carl ensured Monica that everything was running on schedule. When Carl pulled out the trainees’ files, he noticed that the paperwork was not completed, applications were not completed, and some of their transcripts were not on file. Carl also noticed that the there was only 3 training manuals and neither of them were completed. With frustration built up Carl went for a walk to the training room. When Carl arrived at the training facility he seen Joe from technology services, Joe notified Carl that he reserved the room for the entire month of June for computer training seminar for the new database software implementations.
Carl Robins lack of experience has lead to complications of completing a trainee orientation and he needs to coordinate a schedule with the technology service representative, to organize a training schedule, to schedule a mandatory appointment with the clinic, and to finalize the paper work for each of the trainee’s profile.
Background
This case study will identify the obstacles Carl will have to overcome to complete the training schedule for the trainees on time. This analysis will focus on the critical thinking for Carl to complete his task and job at hand.
