ACKNOWLEDGMENT

This research would not be possible without the guidance from significant people who’ve helped in putting this together. We, 4th year Nursing students of the GLOBAL CITY INNOVATIVE COLLEGE of section N-412, would like to extend their acknowledgement to the following people:

First, to our clinical instructor, MA’AM DANILYN MENDOZA, for the continuous guidance and tireless commitment of her time in providing us with the essential knowledge for making this case study a reality. We will forever be thankful for all your assistance and motherly guidance.

Secondly, to the nursing staff of the Emergency Room of OSPITAL NG MUNTINLUPA (OSMUN), who warmly welcomed us with heart-felt hospitality and kindness. During our stay in the Emergency Room, the guidance and supervision of all the nursing staff helped us improve some of our nursing skills and taught us other nursing competencies. We are very thankful for making their stay unforgettable.

And lastly, we also would like to give our appreciation to MR. X, the patient in this case study, for permitting us to conduct our study utilizing his data in the aforementioned institution and for participating cooperatively in all medical and nursing interventions done to him and all health teachings that we have rendered.

PREFACE

The purpose of conducting a research can be a complicated issue and varies across different scientific fields and disciplines. Natural curiosity and burning interest in a particular area lead to formulation of a problem. It is part of the human nature to look for the best answer for all the questions he himself formulates. A researcher’s intellectual curiosity enables him/her to conduct a study in the most creative and productive ways.

RATIONALE FOR CHOOSING THE CASE

During the researchers’ rotation in the Emergency Room of OSPITAL NG MUNTINLUPA (OSMUN), they wanted to get a case that would involve a disease that is new to the researchers and would serve as a good oppurtunity to further expand their knowledge in rendering health care.

There were numerous options wherein the researchers could choose from. Upon meeting the client, a patient suffering from the disease MYOCARDIAL INFARCTION (NON-ST ELEVATION), the researchers saw the potential for learning a lot from this case. By monitoring the client’s condition, they have already learned and seen a lot that have contributed to their medical knowledge such as how to care for a client in pain, how to monitor patient’s different response to nursing care, and how to promote client’s comfort while staying in the hospital. It is therefore the researchers’ desire to share their learning and knowledge to others as well.

SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY

This case presentation offers an opportunity for learning about MYOCARDIAL INFARCTION (NON-ST ELEVATION), a disease that is greatly affects ones health and wellbeing. Review of the case showed that a disease in itself is merely a portion in the entire medical picture of a patient. Through this research, appropriate nursing care to this particular disease would be explored. This research, therefore, would be beneficial for the following:

* TO THE CLIENT- To provide useful information on the problem the client is suffering from, the procedures and tests he may need to undergo, and helpful...
