The Automobile
Everyday people need a way of transportation to and from work or school and most people rely on the usage of a car or truck. Many people use and have them, but only a few people really know how the car works. There are many complex systems that make a car operate. Three main components of a Subaru WRX is the engine, transmission and drive train, which all provide power to make the car move.
The first major component of the Subaru is the engine; the engine is used to power the entire car. From making it go forward, to powering the radio and air condition. Power is created when fuel is pumped into the combustion chamber and then is carried threw the engine to create power. The most common engine is the normal gas engine. The Subaru car company usually runs a boxer engine, witch can be found in today’s Porsches. These engines are fed with normal fuel and often are the choice for many people. There are also diesel engines, commonly found in bigger trucks. These motors offer high horse power and plenty of power to tow. After the fuel is pumped through the engine and converted into power, the torque that is made is transferred from the engine to the transmission.
After the engine has completed the process of making the power. It is carried to the transmission, which powers the cars axles, in term making the car go. Also, the transmission is used for choosing the correct gear for certain situations. There are both automatic and manual transmissions. Automatic transmission does the work for the driver by choosing the correct gear for certain situations, such as downshifting when going up a big hill. There are also manual transmissions, witch tend to be more difficult to drive, but offer a more fun drive if you are in a sportier car. With this, the driver has full control of the vehicles gearing system. So knowing the right times to shift are mandatory when driving manual cars.
