Writing Assignment: My Grandma is a Wolf
Make a list of at least 20 elements of culture.
From that list, create a series of questions for an interview. Choose a parent, grandparent, or relative to interview. He or she must be at least the age of your parents.
Interview them, using the questions and elements you have chosen.
For your writing, you will need a metaphor. The metaphor in our book was the loom- the author used it to weave together all the elements of her mother’s life into a single fabric. You could use a car, a cake, a computer- anything which has components. The components come together to create one thing. Choose a metaphor which has meaning to you- your writing will be much more powerful this way.
