Career Interest Profiler
The results from my interest profiler were enterprising occupations, social occupations and conventional occupations. Enterprising occupations include starting up and carrying out projects. These occupations can involve leading people and making many decisions. Sometimes they require risk taking and often deal with business. Social occupations frequently involve working with, communicating with, and teaching people. These occupations often involve helping or providing service to others and conventional occupations frequently involve following set procedures and routines. These occupations can include working with data and details more than with ideas. Usually there is a clear line of authority to follow. The results of my competencies were organizing, strategizing, innovating, following instructions, adapting to change and entrepreneurial thinking. As stated in my career plan a lawyer, judge, supervisor of an office, administrative support worker, supervisor of protective service workers and supervisor of sales workers were examples of possible job titles that matched my competencies.
According to my career plan the first result of my work culture preferences was supportive which includes a secure, stable environment, clearly defined jobs, goals and expectations, no conflicting demands, considerate management, focuses on employee welfare, lots of personal development and feedback, lots of recognition and celebration of success and a fun place to work. The second result was high powered which includes demanding jobs, career development, career advancement, the chance to learn new skills, the chance to try different jobs or work in different places, high salaries, likelihood of rapid promotion and other benefits. Last, but not least the third result was ethical which includes emphasis on fairness, active promotion of equal rights and justice for all, the chance to contribute positively to society and make a difference to people's lives and an emphasis on

In the Self-directed search my code is SIC. Some of the occupations that match my code are a hearing aid specialist, informatics nurse specialist, critical care nurse, and telecommunicator. The leisure activities that I may enjoy based on my code include ghost hunting, mythology, nutrition, self-help groups, and tutoring. The Competencies survey showed that I am strong in coping with pressure, taking initiative, applying expertise. Additionally, I scored well at researching, strategizing, and following instructions. Coping with pressure is a strong suit because in tough situations I am able to strive and continue the task at hand. When people fall under pressure, the assignment is most likely not going to be done correctly or efficiently. Possessing initiative means when there is something to be done I will do what I have to do in-order to make sure it gets done. I take action on my own which is the meaning of taking initiative. When working on a task I apply my expertise to make sure job is done correct and efficiently.…

Based on the career matches of my interest profiler by the University of Phoenix, I am conventional, enterprising, and realistic. Conventional meaning that I like a routine in my daily life. I am always striving to maintain a normal flow in my life and I don’t like when things change abruptly. I like the idea that I know exactly what is going to occur when I get to work each day and it has always been like that for the past 7 years or since I began my job as a data collector. The equipment changes, but it’s always the same procedures. I truly hate when someone tries to make some real drastic changes at work. Conventional can also refer to someone who prefers to work with data or detailed information. That’s probably why I do real well at my job collecting data on a daily basis. Saying that I am enterprising is saying that I would like to be a leader and someone who makes important decisions and also be able to take risk and like the business aspect of things. I was a leader for many years while serving in the United States Army and I led my soldiers in carrying out numerous tasks on a daily basis. Performed countless exercises throughout my military career. I took charge and made some very crucial decisions that involved lots of risk, while putting the life of my soldiers in danger ways. I tend to be a very realistic person, especially at home. I spent a lot of time tending and caring for my garden. It keeps me very occupied throughout my weekends at home. I also like to work on my cars and constantly doing modifications to them. Being realistic also involves working outside and I love the outdoors. Being outdoors make you enjoy life to its fullest, by appreciating nature and all its living creatures. I could not take an office job ever again, so I hope so. So based on the results from the interest profiler, I am not one bit surprise by the outcome. This is who basically I am.…
