Career Development Plan
Organizations are managed and staffed by people (Cascio, 2006, p. 5). People are needed to build the organizations. Managing people are challenging, complex, and difficult because diversity within the organizations. It is manager’s responsibility to manage their employees and optimizing organization’s resources. Five activities where managers need to be concerned which are staffing, retention, development, adjustment and management change (Cascio, p. 6).
Goodrich Corporation, a fortune 500 company, is a global leader in the aerospace, defense, and homeland security markets. Goodrich strives to be a top quartile aerospace company.  
Goodrich culture relies on three components:
  1. Goodrich values. Ethical behavior, customer focused improvement, accountability and teamwork, openness and trust are the foundation of Goodrich culture.
  2. Continuous improvement. Policy deployment, lean and six sigma tools, real time problem resolution, and advance quality tools.
  3. Goodrich People Philosophy. It is covered six key principles which is mutual trust and respect, identification and elimination of negatives, open two-way communications, employee engagement, training and development, and competitive wages and benefits
To develop and improve company’s business strategy, company needs to build the team that can interact and work together efficiently. To be successful on this company has to select teams carefully and know about their skill, abilities and knowledge; this is where company has to do job analysis. The result of the process of job analysis is a job description and a job specification (Cascio, 2006, p. 158).
