Can You Hear That Poor people are Yelling?
Global warming is an overwrought issue that has been claimed for many years, since global warming raises countless fears, such as melting ice caps, rising sea levels, deteriorating global agriculture. In the long list of potential damages of global warming, the risk to world agriculture stands out as among the most important. Besides, the extent of damage depends on the country level. As some experts and fellow Chinese Academy of Agriculture Sciences state in a research project called “Climate Change on Chinese Agriculture”, China is one of the developing countries, which are suffering more rigorous influence. (Official Web Portal) Besides, since China is a big agricultural country, which has 0.8 billion peasants, agriculture obviously plays a significant role in China. The corresponding impact on Chinese agriculture would be decreasing food production due to frequent natural catastrophes, rising food price because of deteriorating world trading as well as domestic food production, swelling risk of starvation as a result of shrinking food production but soaring food prices; as a result, many people, especially the poor in China would be suffering from those severe influence.
In terms of natural disasters, droughts and Floods are major concerns to food production in China. Changes in frequency, intensity, and length of duration of extreme events caused by climate change may lead to the growing risks of droughts and floods in many regions.
