EVOLUTION FOR BUSINESS COMMUNICATION
Effective business communication involves not only the messages itself but also the medium that carries and delivers it. The businesses now require an integrated application that manages and organizes all forms of communications and interactions across the workplace. Nowadays, many offices are paperless and technology applications are used to manage communication in the company, company accounts, client records, sales forecasts, security, HR, clocking in and out and billing. We barely have time to pause and reflect these days on how far the communications technology has progressed. Without even taking a breath, we have shifted from the traditional business communication tools to the modern technologies.
Before this, we are using hand written letters or mails such as routine reports and formal letters to communicate among the businesses. But it has been slowly replaced by the email. The obvious differences are that email is faster and virtual. The speed and quantity of communication created a qualitatively different communication medium. As we all know, email has very quickly evolved into the dominant medium for day to day business communication. It is the most broadly used form of digital communication particularly in business. The advent of email changed the way the organizations communicated with their employees in a big way, rather than post and send out large quantities of paper based announcements and waste time on lick and stick the stamps, a single email could send to all employees at the same time regardless of geographical location.
Before the existence of typewriters, businesses are using chalk to deliver messages to the staffs as well as clients. The restaurants in the olden days are using chalk and small blackboard to show their menu and specialties for the customers who passed by the restaurants.
