Pension Pay Employment rights and Responsibilities It is basically representative bodies that support employees, you normally sign up to a Union and pay monthly or yearly fee and they are always there for you. They help your job to become more secure, they support you if you lose your job, for disciplinary meetings, your salary, holiday etc. Basically extra support for employees 5. Identify employer and employee responsibilities for equality and diversity in a business environment. You should give at least two employer responsibilities and two employee responsibilities. If possible, provide relevant equality and diversity procedures from your workplace (or place of study) to support your answer. These documents should be annotated to highlight the relevant sections. Employer responsibilities are- 6. Explain the benefits of making sure equality and diversity procedures are followed in a business environment. Your answer should include one benefit for the employer, one benefit for the employee and one benefit for the overall organisation. The employer will benefit from having equality and diversity procedures in place by preventing unfair discrimination and to treat everyone fairly. The employees will benefit from having these procedures in place as they might learn new things from others with different experiences and perspectives. Plus having a diverse workforce who is treated equally will have social and economic benefits for businesses. Generally, it leads to Stronger working relationships, happier workforce, increased productivity, varied ideas/ talents appreciated within organisation, more openness/ mutual respect with business partners/ customers of differing backgrounds, greater market share. Section 2 Understand the purpose of health, safety and security procedures in a business environment 1a. Identify employer and employee responsibilities for health and safety. Employers have regulations about health, safety and security. They must ensure that it is safeguarded and is practicable for members of staff, customers, visitors and contractors to ensure their health, safety and welfare within the establishment. This applies to all businesses to fully maintain all equipment and machinery used within the workplace, and to ensure it is all used safely by workers to the required standards. They also have to make sure that the working environment meets the statutory requirements such as ventilation, lighting, toilet, washing and rest facilities.
