The aim of this unit is to develop learners’ skills and knowledge of recruitment and selection in business. Learners will do this through preparing the relevant documents used in the selection process, planning and taking part in mock interviews and researching the impact of the legal and regulatory framework on recruitment and selection activities.

Learning outcomes:

1 Know the processes involved in recruitment planning
2 Understand the implications of the regulatory framework for the process of recruitment and selection
3 Be able to prepare documentation involved in the selection and recruitment process
4 Be able to participate in a selection interview

Task 1

Planning recruitment

Identify how two organisations plan recruitment using internal and external sources (P1)

This task requires you to produce a written report which identifies how two organisations plan recruitment using internal and external sources.

The Manchester College should be one of your chosen organisations because documents are easily accessible, however your other organisation will require extensive research.
Your second organisation will be one of your choice, however, you are strongly recommended to choose an organisation you can gain access to on-line, via family members, or maybe you work for them.

Explain the impact of the legal and regulatory framework on the process of recruitment and selection. (P2)
