P1 – Describe the Type of Business, Purpose and Ownership of Two Contrasting Organisations

In this task I will be investigating two different types of businesses and will be comparing them with each other. I will be first talking about the public sector, Sir John Cass and Redcoat school. The private sector I have chosen for this task is Blue Inc.

Sir John Cass and Redcoat School.
Sir John Cass and Redcoat school is a public sector, owned and organised by the government, in tower hamlets. Everyone at Sir John Cass Redcoat School is encouraged to think very deeply about the future. Individual are given support and guidance, the students are able to carefully explore options and make confident, well informed decisions about Higher Education, training or work when they leave us. Sir john Cass is a tertiary sector as they provide a service. For example education. It is a local business which means that Sir John Cass and Redcoat school provides a service to the local population, tower hamlets.
Sir John Cass Redcoat School has special links with many universities, offering students a real taste of life in Higher Education. Sir John Cass work with LSE, London Metropolitan University and Queen Mary & Westfield University College to facilitate the Peer 18 Saturday School scheme, whereby students are paid to attend lectures and revision courses. This school is a global school as it is only for those who live within the borough of tower hamlets.
Blue Inc/PLC
Blue Inc aims to sell quality fashion at affordable prices. The products offered are predominately casual urban menswears. They also stock branded and designer products, such as Ben Sherman jeans and shoes. The main purpose of this organization is to sell as many own branded products in order to generate profit. The Company was founded back in 1912 originally trading as A. Levy and Son in East London. In 1968 the fascia Mr Byrite was established. Between 1997 and 2002 the stores were re- branded Blue Inc
