Week 1. Exercise Questions
1.1-My Husband has helped me in the past. They are easy going, honest and positive. I find that I am positive in most areas of my life but need to work on the honesty and finding ways to relieve stress to be more care free and not worry so much. I would need to find things that calm me down and I feel is relaxing. I also need to work on honesty with myself first. Once I can quite lying to myself then I can quite lying to others, which then I’m not having to cover a lie with another lie. 1.2-Interviewer, I see myself as one every day. I have to interact with our clients and obtain personal information from them and determine why they need to be seen. I feel this is important because it helps me determine how important it is to get the child seen. It is important for a professional to be an interviewer in order to get an understanding for any ground work on your client. Case manager-I don’t consider myself a case manager. Those are who reviews your case then follows out your plan until complete. I would feel a little more comfortable with one due to they will be in contact with you and following up with you to make sure what is discussed is actually happening. Provider reminds me of a doctor or insurance company due to what is the terminology we use at the doctor’s office. I would only compare this to when I’m searching for specialists with my insurance company. Shrink I have no relation to. This term actually makes me feel uncomfortable. I feel like this has brought a bad outlook through media or in movies. Therapist and life coach both are pretty much the same for me. They are there to assist and guide as needed. Making up simple guidelines and learning to compromise. These are important for success in whatever you are trying to overcome. Clinician makes me feel like it’s more of a doctor and less likely to help and more apt to only be able to relate out of text book not real life experiences. Change agent I’m

The ship set sail from Portsmouth, England early yesterday morning and we have been sailing for almost a whole 24 hours; I’m assuming we’re about 40 degrees north of the equator. It’s a perfect day out for sailing, the water is crystal blue, my hair is softly blowing though the wind, and there’s not a cloud in sight. Today my job was to use a dredge. A dredge takes samples along the surface of the seafloor while being dragged across the bottom. I didn’t have much luck today finding large organisms other than a few normal fish, but we did bring up some mud with insects living in it. The insects were tiny seemed to have been feeding on the mud. They looked to be worms with legs. Only much slimmer than worms…

There were a variety of professionals involved within this role play. There was a psychiatrist who is a medical doctor who has specialized training in mental illnesses and emotional problems. A psychiatrist may also be trained in psychotherapy as it is quite a common treatment for people who need psychiatrists today. Furthermore, the community psychiatric nurse was someone who would visit clients within their home to give them privacy to talk through the clients problems and offer practical advice and support. Often they will give out medicines and will specialise in eating disorders and behaviour therapy. Another professional is the social worker who helps to talk people through their problems, giving the client practical advice, emotional support and providing psychological treatments. The occupational therapist helps people with their day to day life as the client may lock themselves away from the outside world. Therefore the occupational therapist will give advice on where their client should live, help to re-build the clients confidence and helps the client to become more independent. Moreover, the clinical psychologist will meet for regular meetings, to talk through the client’s feelings, thoughts and behaviour. As cognitive therapy is a common approach they will use different therapies such as the psychodynamic approach and behavioural psychotherapies. The pharmacist will give the client expert advice to the GP about the medication the client should take. Finally, the team manager is the senior…
