Brian P Schmidt
Brian P. Schmidt was born on February 24, 1967 in the Montana mountains. His family soon moved to Anchorage, Alaska when he was just about 13 years old. Schmidt got his high school education from Barlett high school and graduated in 1985. It’s been noted that Brian wanted to be a meteorologist since he was five years old. At first he didn’t fully enjoy it describing it as “to much of a routine and not as exciting as he thought it would be”. He would later earn his BS degree in physics and astronomy from the University of Arizona in 1989. In 1994 Schmidt teamed up with Nicholas B. Suntzeff, who formed the high-z supernova search team. The point of this team was to measure the deceleration of the universe using distance. Schmidt was later made the leader of the HZT and led his team in 1998.
Brian p Schmidt was awarded the noble prize because of the discovery of the “accelerating expansion of the universe through observation of distant supernova” The discovery shocked the world of physics and astronomy when it was first reported in 1998 by a competing teams of scientists. Brian also received a diploma. He was very excited to be the twenty-eleven noble prize winner. I’m sure many people in the world honor him for his work and for his hard work and time that he put into his discovery. Many people probably speak about him and his medal and diploma. The ceremonies were in Stockholm. He also “presented the King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden with a bottle of his wine” King Carl was probably really honored to receive the bottle of wine that he was given at the ceremonies.
Brian P. Schmidt was known for the discovery of “accelerating expansion of the universe through observations of distant supernova.” Schmidt’s discovery is very important mainly because it’s critical to understand our universe and its fate. The reason I say fate is because as the universe continues to expand the density of radiation and dark matters began to decline, more faster... [continues]
