Braves Website
The Atlanta Braves is a Major League Baseball team in the east division of the National League. The Atlanta Braves website, www.braves.com, is a combination of a sports team website, a tribute to Chipper Jones, and an attempt to make money.   The Braves are battling for a spot in the playoffs, and the website designer showcases this alongside several other aspects of the organization.  
The layout of the website is extremely professional.   The first sight upon entering the website is a set of scrolling headlines with pictures concerning the articles.   At the top of the website are multiple tabs that lead further into the website. The site has a place where the viewer can watch or listen to live games, as well as, a live scoreboard section.   Further down, a section where team leaders in batting average, home runs, RBIs, etc. are noted.   Division standings and wild card standings, for the playoffs, are present as well.   M.L.B. news, next year’s schedule, social media opportunities, and advertisements round out the front page.    
The first tab is team news.   Sights on this page include an acknowledgement of a beat reporter, and Braves’ tweets, blogs and press releases. This section contains multiple articles concerning players, games, and postseason thoughts. Several articles do a good job of describing the impact of young pitcher Kris Medlen, who has quickly become the Braves’ ace.   Also noted is a manager decision to flip the rotation in order to set up Medlen to start in the Wild Card game.   The author does a good job of explaining the reversal of the midseason hitting woes of the Atlanta hitters.
The video tab is my favorite piece.   The combination of game highlights, interviews, etc. are interesting for any fan of baseball.   The talks with manager Fredi Gonzalez allow the fan essentially into team meetings and strategies.   Game highlights are extremely... [continues]
