Originally, this product was developed and designed by a Canadian company Research In Motion (RIM) since 1996. In 1999 the first Blackberry device was introduced as a two way pager - RIM 850. BlackBerry first made headway in the marketplace by concentrating on e-mail. The more commonly known smartphone BlackBerry was released in 2002 , which supports push e-mail, mobile telephone, text messaging, Internet faxing, Web browsing and other wireless information services. It is an example of a convergent device, whereas the original BlackBerry devices, the RIM 850 and 857, used the DataTac network. Blackberry smartphone has a lot of useful features : PDA applications like address book, to-do-lists, calendar, it can send and receive email wherever it has access to a suitable wireless network. Some models have a PTT or push To Talk feature, similar to a two-way radio. There is a QWERTY keypad , designed so one can type with the thumb only. The central scroll ball helps in system navigation. Also Blackberry Bold offers more security features than other phones do. It has several communication features as well : twitter, facebook, Blackberry connection, but what is more valiable for Blackberry target customers , it has an outrageous business software. The target audience for Blackberry phones are mainly business people. The multi functionality of Blackberry phone provide business people with everything they need to communicate, to do their work faster , to do better in their lifes. With a single phone of this, any businessperson can accomplish all job related tasks.
