Birth of a Nation a film surrounding the rise of the Ku Klux Klan, with this the rise of racism was increased. The Civil War between the south and the north, slavery vs. freedom. Many points of racial inequality were presented throughout the film, for example white supremacy of the blacks. Throughout the film many turning points were presented with the blacks attempting to overpower the whites, the government passing laws to aid the blacks while being cheated into giving them what they wanted. The creation of the Ku Klux Klan was the major event of the movie introducing the beginning of the killing of the blacks, who were attempting to violate the ways of the whites. Birth of Nation centered on making the blacks look like they were the bad guys at the time which caused the Ku Klux Klan to be made look like they were the heroes at the time. The director’s main goal in my point of view was to show the audience the way that the blacks were running amok doing everything in their own way ignoring the whites after they were in power. To try and turn everyone onto the Ku Klux Klan’s side instead of trying to support the blacks. In my opinion the director did an excellent job with this because once you get into the movie you start to see how the blacks are just trying to take control and causing violence. The whites begin to get overpowered by the amount of blacks with this it changed the way that people were viewing the events as they began to occur one by one. These events occurring during the film allow us to see how everything used to be how people would get turned into believing something else in a matter of seconds without hesitation. It helps us understand that racism would be enfluenced by the voice of one person by himself without even needing the approval of others. People only wanted to have their way no matter what the cost.
