ABSTRACT
This research paper will provide an overview of the “The Da Vinci Surgical System”. We will give background information on this system, and also explain how this system functions and the development of this. We will also explain the pros and cons of the da Vinci system, and explain why this system is worth the costs.
INTRODUCTION
In rare cases of accidents, or crashes requires a surgery; surgery usually forces an individual to stay at a hospital for months. A surgery usually requires the surgeon to perform a large incision which requires prolonged stay in a hospital. Surgeries can be used to place implants, take out damaged organs, replace organs, cure cancer and etc. The risk of surgeries is almost always pain, but also infections, reaction to anesthesia, rapid blood loss, or an accidental surgery. Newer surgery techniques like laser and electrical surgery allows less invasive surgeries, but they are targeted and are specific; they also only destroy, remove, or repair certain areas. A recent breakthrough in surgical technology provides a new solution to surgeries. The Da Vinci Surgical system, consisting of multiple computer or robotic parts, allows surgeons to... [continues]
