To exercise or not to exercise what a stupid question!
There are approximately 1440 minutes in every day- one can easily schedule 30 minutes of that time for physical activity and exercise. Stop wasting hours on TV, playing video games and going on YouTube. Stop allowing yourself to be consumed by endless hours of videos and stalking and poking people on face book. If you manage your time properly you will have time for all your social activities such as; keeping up with school, catching up with friends and even going to your favourite restaurant and eating like a boss without feeling guilty about it. Experts recommend you exercise at least 30 minutes a day, and no… walking to McDonalds, taking the stairs at school or work does not count. Not exercising daily leads to many chronic diseases and health risks. Everyone knows that exercise is important but I am here to tell you just how vital it is to having a positive and healthy lifestyle.
First of all I need to address the health risks you can avoid by taking exercise seriously. Not being active and not exercising can cause heart disease, high blood pressure, obesity, back pain, unhealthy eating habits, stress and the list goes on. In today’s society many serious illnesses are becoming more and more common because people are becoming less concerned with the food that they consume and the condition their bodies are in. Our bodies were meant to move, they actually crave exercise. Have you heard the expression “use it or lose it”? It’s true! If you don’t use your body, you will surely lose it. Your muscles will become flabby and weak. Regular physical activity can reduce high blood pressure and body fat which is associated with it. Exercise can delay the aging process and make you look good with or without clothes on. When you exercise, your body uses energy to keep going, aerobic exercise such as Zumba or kickboxing cardio involves rhythmic physical motion. By doing these physical activities you train your body to become more efficient and use less energy. This improves your stamina and endurance- imagine not getting winded when you’re chasing the bus or running to English class on the 4th floor or even in bed, trust me I would know ;)
Being physically inactive is one of the biggest risk factors of heart disease. This is because the heart is a muscular organ, and like all muscles, it needs exercise to perform at its best. Exercise also has positive psychological effects. Regular physical activity can improve your mood, your self-esteem and self-image. Researchers also have found that exercise is likely to reduce depression, anxiety and helps you to manage stress better. When you don’t exercise your body’s energy level is low and will run out of energy faster. Finding exercise related activities that you will enjoy and make part of your daily life and daily routine is the key to a long and healthy life. I stress the word enjoy because finding a form of exercise that you like will make it easier to keep it up. There is a very big misunderstanding about pressure and stress, we think that it’s bad for us and we do our best to avoid it, and to a certain extent it is true but if we think outside of the box, pressure and stress are essential building blocks for growth and true strength. The more exercise your body goes through the bigger and stronger it gets, take a look at body builders, they go through so much tension and strain and feel the pain from soreness every morning. Some train 6 days a week, their bodies go through pressure and stress thus resulting in stronger and bigger muscles. (Not to mention their ridiculous diet) It’s not just about muscles either, pressure and stress in controlled variables can also be beneficial mentally but that’s another topic for another video. For now let’s stick to exercising and its impacts.
It is very important that you find your inner flame of passion for what you do in life, and include that passion in everything you do. Exercising is no different. People exercise for many different reasons, to look good in order to impress others, to keep healthy, to get stronger and faster. I would like to share my reason and philosophy for exercising, for me exercising is much more than just a physical workout. You see I noticed something so fascinating and beautiful through exercise. Every time after a hard exhausting workout I feel happy, calm and content. I get a natural high and contented due to hormone release during the workout (insulin according to experts). The next morning I feel so sore that I can barely walk or raise my hands, but through that pain I feel more alive. I feel like I made a difference in my life regardless to how minor it is, I set a goal for myself and I have accomplished it.
I noticed that nothing good in life comes easy, at least not for majority of us who aren’t born billionaires. Hard work and perseverance is necessary for a successful life. Through exercise we can set a long term goal for ourselves, challenge our bodies and abilities, no matter how hard it gets never quitting. Through exercising we build our minds and bodies, in the process of completing a goal our minds evolve we feel good about ourselves, we feel as though we are ready to take on more challenges because in the end when you reach your goal you will be not only physically dominating, but also mentally unstoppable. The discipline you acquire through working out is also easily translated throughout your life outside of the gym.

Exercise gives people the ability to have more self-esteem, self-worth, and a higher level of confidence. Brisk walking for one hour a day for five days a week burns about two-thousand calories a week. Although those perfect looking bodies that our society shrives for are only reached with extreme dedication, simple daily exercise is guaranteed to increase self confidence. Strong muscles also help protect you from injuries when you exercise, because they give better support to your joints. A common misconception is that as we get older, it is normal to stop being active and to start using ambulatory aides like canes and wheelchairs. When you begin achieving great results, the excitement and fun you experience will make the change well worth the effort. That's because when you exercise, your body can release endorphins, chemicals that create a happy feeling in your brain. While the majority of fitness research efforts focus on the physical and health benefits of exercise, there is a growing body of work demonstrating that exercise promotes wellness and mental health. Plus, when you're breathing deeply during exercise and bringing more air into your lungs, your brain appreciates the extra oxygen. Most kids are pretty flexible, but as people get older they tend to lose their flexibility. Our muscles also function as shock absorbers and serve as important balancing agents throughout our body. To be most effective in weight loss, exercise should last at least forty-five minutes. These chemicals released by the brain are the body's natural painkillers and can lead to an increase in feelings of happiness. All the muscles in your body do a fine job when you use them for easy things, like picking up a book or walking down the…
