Pele- Informative Speech
1. Attention Getter- “My father always told me, football is a gift from god, and god gave you this gift, just how he gives a song to a musician, or a singer. So you have to take care of your health, how you prepare yourself, and you always have to respect your opponents, and if you do that you will be a great player and no one will stop you.” This is one famous quote from Pele’s book “My life, and The Beautiful Game.”

1. Main Point 1- Pele’s Youth Career
A. Pele was first spotted by...
...Edson Arantes do Nascimento , better known as Pelé is considered one of the best soccer players ever. He was considered the perfect soccer player, as he was completely two-footed, very productive at finishing, excellent at dribbling and passing, a very good tackler for a forward. In other words, he was technically outstanding, known for his lightning speed, and his strength at the ball. When he retired in 1977, he had scored over a thousand goals and won three world cups (1958, 1962 and 1970).
Pele's success did not come easy. He was born in Tres Coracoes, Brazil by a very poor family. His father, Joao Ramos do Nascimento was also a soccer player until he fractured his leg, ending his career as a soccer player.
Pele started playing soccer at a very young age. When he was a child, Pele and his family moved to Bauru in the interior of the Brazilian state of Sao Paulo, where he learned to master the art of soccer. At fifteen, he observed his father play soccer for hours, hoping that someday he would become a professional player himself.
Pele played soccer with his neighborhood friends, often going barefoot and improvising with coconuts for balls and cans as goalposts. Pele began playing soccer for a local team when he was a teenager. He was discovered at age of 11 by one of the country's player, Waldemar de Brito. He was the one who brought Pele to Bauru, Sao Paulo and told the club's...
Of the many great soccer players there are in the Unites States Hall of Fame, Pele would have to be one of the greatest. His immense achievements he’s made, his campaign to add awareness to the third world poverty around the world, and his rise to fame at an early age are the factors that contribute to his greatness.
Edson Arantes do Nascimento was born to Joao Ramos do Nascimento and Dona Celeste in a small town in Minas Grerais, Brazil. Very highly regarded as “The Greatest Soccer Player in the World”. (Parris 1) This great legend started playing when he was eight with a makeshift ball made by stuffing a large sock with a bunch of news paper. He and his friends made neighborhood tournaments. When he was fifth teen he was recruited by a local team in Santos, and at the age of 17 he was recruited by the national team and was chosen to play in the World Cup Tournament. Going from a small neighborhood tournament to the World Cup in a few years…. Dang! He made a lasting impression by scoring the winning goal against Sweden. After he finished his mandatory year service in the military, he came back to play around 1960. He toured around Europe playing against the most prestigious soccer clubs in Denmark, Italy, and Portugal. (Parris 3)
Right now Pele is rich and famous but this wasn’t always so. He was born in a world of poverty. His dad was a minor league soccer player. Talking about poverty, Pele said...
...Pele was a very famous football/soccer player who was born on the 23rd of October 1940. Pele grew up in a very poor family in Tres Coracos, Brazil. Pele is just a nickname for Edson Arantes Do Nascimento which is why he was given this nickname since he has such a long name. Growing up his parents and friends called him ‘Dico’. He first learned the game football from his dad ‘Dondinho’ who was a centre forward until his career came to an end with a fractured leg. Pele began playing when he was a young boy for a local minor team, when he wasn’t playing he was shining shoes for pennies. He was first discovered at age 11 by one of the countries premier players, Waldemar de Brito. Waldemar took Pele to Sao Paulo and said, ‘This boy will be the greatest player in the world’. He was right! Pele had an immediate impact, in his first game he scored a goal right away at age 16! Pele went on to four world cups with his national team Brazil. Pele was an average sized man but blessed with speed, balance, excellent vision, being able to control a ball superbly, being able to shoot powerfully and accurately with either foot and head. Some wealthy European clubs offered large amounts of money to sign the young Brazilian but the government of Brazil declared him an official national treasure to prevent him being transferred out of the country. Pele said ‘My father...
...William Wordsworth (1770-1850), an early leader of romanticism in English poetry, ranks as one of the greatest lyric poets in the history of English literature.
William Wordsworth was born in Cookermouth, Cumberland, on April 7, 1770, the second child of an attorney. Unlike the other major English romantic poets, he enjoyed a happy childhood under the loving care of his mother and in close intimacy with his younger sister Dorothy (1771-1855). As a child, he wandered exuberantly through the lovely natural scenery of Cumberland. At Hawkshead Grammar School, Wordsworth showed keen and precociously discriminating interest in poetry. He was fascinated by "the divine John Milton," impressed by George Crabbe's descriptions of poverty, and repelled by the "falsehood" and "spurious imagery" in Ossian's nature poetry.
From 1787 to 1790 Wordsworth attended St. John's College, Cambridge, always returning with breathless delight to the north and to nature during his summer vacations. Before graduating from Cambridge, he took a walking tour through France, Switzerland, and Italy in 1790. The Alps gave him an ecstatic impression that he was not to recognize until 14 years later as a mystical "sense of usurpation, when the light of sense/ Goes out, but with a flash that has revealed/ The invisible world"--the world of "infinitude" that is "our beings's heart and home."

...Title: Investment and Portfolio Management, Stock Exchange
Most things, which are happening in the world, are affected by money. In my dissertation I will discuss stock exchanges. What is it stock exchange, how stock exchange works, what common people thinks about stock exchange and how people can invest into stocks, bonds, securities and probably options and futures. The reason why I choose stock markets as my topic of my dissertation is that I am really interested in stock markets.
I have chosen the stock exchange also because I want to explain how people can get rich or poor really quickly. When you want to trade on the stock market you need to predict the direction of the financial markets and you must also have luck. In this dissertation I analyse stocks and their prices through my own portfolio where we have invested with my group in module Investment and portfolio management. I analyse rises and falls in the prices of securities and the cause of these changes.
World today is modern and fast, and it also adapts to the stock exchange. Most of the books I have read in the library were printed in the 90th years or they were even older. Who wants to be successful in the stock market must have relevant information about what happens in the world, in companies and in financial markets. The states are in financial crises, markets are unstable and risk is really high. In my work, I will also try to deal with concept of risk and return.
