Some examples of bias in the speech are the statements of the working man and the slum child know they can expect my best efforts in their interests, The decent, ordinary citizens know that I'll do everything in my power to protect the underprivileged, the underpaid, and the underfed. Examples of fallacies are when he kept blaming Jim W. Getty for everything that went wrong in the government by saying the downright villainy, of Boss Jim W. Getty’s' political machine -- now in complete control of the government of this State! There is only one man who can rid the politics of this State of the evil domination of Boss Jim Getty’s. The specific rhetorical devices in the speech are the statements; now in complete control of the government of this State! I made no campaign promises, because until a few weeks ago I had no hope of being elected, I'd make my promises now if I weren't too busy arranging to keep them and   Here's one promise I'll make, and boss Jim Getty’s knows I'll keep it: My first official act as Governor of this State will be to appoint a Special District Attorney to arrange for the indictment, prosecution, and conviction of Boss Jim W. Getty’s!
The speaker addressed arguments and counterarguments by not stating what he was going to do for the citizens but bash the opponent. I believe this wasn’t a good idea because as I was listening to the speech it didn’t make me want to vote for Kane because he was telling me anything about how he was going to make the government better. All he was doing was telling the listeners that he was going to beat the opponent , put him in jail and take care of the under privileged.
I don’t believe the speaker’s arguments were effective because   he wasn’t responding to what the current governor did wrong and he wasn’t saying what he was going to don correct. [continues]
