We must begin to think outside the box. Our world is changing rapidly and we need to think about how we can compete more efficiently with other countries. We must think of better systems. Two that come to mind are our tax system and our educational system. Both are extremely expense and inefficient. Over a billion dollars a year are spent by businesses to deal with the IRS and the IRS is extremely expense to operate. We can do better.
Also our K12 school system is extremely expensive. Consider the money which would be saved by having a federal operated system whereby the teachers operate out of a central location piping the classes to students across the nation via cable HDTV. The students would attend by filing into large auditoriums. One for 9th grade, one for 10th grade, one for 11th grade and one for seniors within each school district. The students would view the federal teachers giving the lessons of the day on wall size screens. The students would not move form class room to class room but have breaks morning and afternoon with lunch in between. There would be no teachers in the auditoriums but student aids made up of college students working their way through college by working as student aids. There would be an appropriate number of these student aids depending on the number of students. Also student tutors would be available after class. And again these student tutors would be college students working they way through college. Also the auditorium would be monitored by officers. The auditoriums for the different grade levels would feed into a central cafeteria and the auditoriums would have doors feeding into recess yards for each grade level etc. etc. This system would also incorporate Vo-Tech learning program for students not interested in college but high paying jobs which require   certification. Jobs they can begin straight out of school.
