Manual of Best Practices
Introduction
This manual provides guidance for project communication in accordance with applicable corporation standards and rules. The manual consists of suggested procedures, methods, and examples that our company feels are in line with the corporate philosophy. These “best practices” were derived from similar historical information and industry consensus. Leadership strategies must be clearly understood at all levels of the organization. Inevitably changes in company procedures will occur but well maintained and communicated goals and standards will empowering all employees. “Involving the customers and other stakeholder during initiation generally improves the probability of shared ownership, deliverable acceptance, and customer and other stakeholder acceptance.” (PMI, 2008)
It should be understood that communication as a whole is much more encompassing than what may be covered in this manual and can be extremely exhaustive, so please note that the procedures here within are not meant to be mandatory by any means but more as a reference to aid you. Communication has to be an ongoing continuous improvement program, thus this chapter in envisioned as a “living document” and thus will be updated periodically both with expansion upon ideas and ever changing industry practices.
